To all those who applied for the America trip, we are in the process of confirming places and will be writing to you all soon, we hope we can offer every person a place and just need to confirm that there is room to house everyone over in the US of A!!!
Once we have done that we can confirm the dates and book the flights, and write to you to confirm all the details.
In the meantime we are organising a lot of exciting fundraising activities from Quiz Nights & Craft Fairs to Christmas shows and Carol Singing! We hope you can all join in?
Lets put the FUN in FUNdraising!!! (cheeeeeeeeeeesy stuff!!) It will be a great teambuilding experience and really prepare the young people for spending time together in the states when they are away from family, good friends help combat home sickness so lets use this fundraising time to ensure they all know each other well and feel comfortable together.

Meeting Tonight!
Very excited! The sign up meeting is tonight, we get to meet everyone who is interested in coming along to America with us.
Places are limited so hoping not to disappoint too many people.

We are delighted to announce that our annual international trip will take place to America in Easter 2011.
Participants will travel to Philadelphia where they will work with an American youth theatre to produce a performance piece. There will also be a trip to New York with the possibility of seeing a professional theatre production.

Accommodation
We have been offered accommodation in a shared house where participants will sleep in dorm-like facilities. The group members will need to provide their own sleeping bag and are welcome to bring an inflatable mattress to ensure extra comfort. However, we advise those attending to pack on the light side and only take what they really need. Valuables such as iPods, jewellery, cameras, portable game devices etc will be the responsibility of the owner, Fusion Youth Theatre cannot be held responsible for loss of belongings.
Dates
We are aiming to travel to Philadelphia from Heathrow Airport on 15th April 2011 and travel back home on 25th April 2011. This is yet to be confirmed, dates may be altered slightly after this letter, the entire trip will last at least 10 days.
Cost
Participants will pay a total of £550 as their personal fee. They should submit the first £100 with their application forms as a non refundable deposit. The rest can be paid in stages or fundraised as per the information in the application pack. We can offer support and guidance for those wanting to fundraise the whole amount. Participants should aim for £200 to be paid in by the end of November with the remaining £250 by the end of January, they should discuss options with us if they need extra time to raise the money, we are happy to help and make alternative arrangements.
Fundraising
As well as the personal payment of £550, Fusion Youth Theatre need to raise an additional £4,000 to make the trip happen! FYT will organise big events and the America Trip participants will be expected to get involved/promote/ assist with as many of the events as possible or the trip will not be able to go ahead! We are hoping that people will be happy to offer a little of their time in order to keep the personal fee as low as possible. If the money is not raised, the trip will not happen.
If you are keen to take part and are happy to get involved in additional fundraising activities then get saving your pennies now!

Youth members interested in the trip should attend as well as parents/guardians or a representative if they cannot make it. If you cannot make the meeting at all then we can send an application pack out but please bear in mind that we have very limited number of places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
